Jamie Rose starred in "Shadow Waltz", later released by Troma as "Rebel Love". In her first feature lead, Rose played the part of Columbine Cromwell, a lonely Indiana widow during the American Civil War. When an injured traveling salesman shows up on her doorstep, she takes the man in, only to learn later--after she's fallen in love with him--that he is a Confederate spy on the run from Yankee patrols. The film, shot in Alabama in 1983 on a budget of under $150,000, was written and directed by first-timer Milton Bagby. The film also stars Terence Knox as the rebel spy, and veteran character actress Fran Ryan as a crusty old peddler. The video was released by Vestron and is now out of print. Copies are occasionally available on Blockbuster close-out tables. "Jamie is a sparkling actress, with an enormous amount of talent. While her range includes many genres, she is particularly adept at comedy and has a great physical sense of timing. The only problem with Jamie is that we don't see enough of her." --Milton Bagby
